Sanyi
For other uses, see Sanyi (disambiguation).
The Sanyi (Chinese: 三邑; pinyin: sānyì; literally: "three counties") or Sam Yup are the counties of Panyu, Nanhai and Shunde on the southern and western fringes of the city of Guangzhou, China. Many of the Chinese immigrants to the United States in the late 19th century came from this part of the Pearl River Delta, together with the coastal region of Siyi to the southwest.[2][3]
