Santa Maria Town Center (sometimes simply referred as Town Center) is a shopping center located in Santa Maria, California, United States. It is located on the junction of Routes 135 (Broadway) and 166 (Main Street), as well as intersection of Cook Street, and Miller Street. Santa Maria Town Center is known to be the largest enclosed shopping center on the Central Coast of California, with about 600,000 square feet (55,740 square meters). It also consists of 25 acres (10 ha) of retail space, 3,200 parking spaces, and over 65 stores. It opened in 1976 with Gottschalks and Sears as anchors. May Company California, later Robinsons-May and now Macy's, was added in 1990.[2] Gottschalks closed in 2009.
In 2010, the mall's owners defaulted on a loan.[3]
In 2012, the mall was sold to Spinoso Group, who began renovations on the former Gottschalks wing. The old Gottschalks building became a movie theater, and the wing will include entertainment venues such as a soccer training facility.[4]
