Sandeepa Dhar (Kashmiri: سندیپا دھر) is an Indian actress.[1] Sandeepa made her acting debut in the 2010 Hindi film Isi Life Mein.[2][3] For her performance in the film, she was nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut, Star Screen Award for Most Promising Newcomer and Stardust Award for Superstar of Tomorrow. Sandeepa did a cameo in Dabangg 2[4][4][5] She received a very positive review by the famous film critic Komal Nahta for her performance in Dabangg 2[6]And she also received critical acclaim for her brief but very effective performance in Sajid Nadiadwala's Heropanti[7]

Early life and background

Sandeepa was born in Srinagar, Kashmir, India. She did her schooling from National Public School in Bengaluru and completed her graduation in advertising from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai. She did her early schooling from St Michael's Convent, Mankapur, a small town in Gonda District of U P, India. Sandeepa is a professionally trained dancer. Having won several awards for her dancing, she trained in bharatnatyam for 8 years from the famous Vani Ganpati. She also trained in Jazz and Contemporary for 4 years from Shaimak Davar and Terence Lewis.

Career

In 2010, Sandeepa Dhar made her cinematic debut in Rajshri Production's Hindi film Isi Life Mein opposite actor Akshay Oberoi. Her performance was well received, earning the actress a best newcomer nomination at the Star Screen, Filmfare and Stardust Awards. Taran Adarsh praised her performance in the film saying, "Sandeepa Dhar is another talent that catches your attention."[8]

Sandeepa's upcoming films include " Gollu aur Pappu" produced by Viacom 18 co starring Kunal Roy Kapur and Vir Das of Delhi Belly fame. She has been signed for a 3 film deal with Viacom 18.[9]
