Sand sole (Pegusa lascaris) is a fish species in the Soleidae family. Widespread in the north-eastern and south-eastern Atlantic, to the Gulf of Guinea in South, also in the Mediterranean Sea.[1] Recorded in the Suez Canal.[2] Sometime it is mentioned for the Black Sea and Sea of Azov,[3] but mistakly because it is inhabited by another species, Blackhand sole, which was considered as subspecies Pegusa lascaris nasuta (now as different species).[4] Marine subtropical demersal fish, up to 40 cm long.
