San Vicente is one of the 44 barangays of the municipality of Ubay, in the province of Bohol, Philippines.

The barangay's total land area is 4,966 hectares (12,270 acres),[3] making it the largest barangay in the municipality. According to the 2010 census, it has a population of 1,074 , so it is also the least densely populated barangay, with only 22/km2 (57/sq mi). In the last election, it had 613 registered voters, meaning that 57% of the population are aged 18 and over.[2]

San Vicente celebrates its annual fiesta on 5 April in honor of their patron saint.

Location

Located in the southeastern part of the municipality, San Vicente is bounded to the north by Imelda, to the east by barangay Cagting, to the south by Biabas, and to the west by Imelda and Lomangog. San Vicente is 21 km (13 mi) from the town center, Poblacion

The barangay is situated 425 kilometres (260 mi) southeast of the approximate center of Philippines and 635 kilometres (390 mi) from Manila.

Government

After Vicente Dupit ruled the barangay, Pauleno Felisilda became second barangay captain. His accomplishment are the barangay hall and basketball court. The third barangay captain was Sergio Pesay Sr. who chaired in 1997 but he was killed in middle of his term in 2000. His accomplishment is barangay electrification. Then, first elected councilor replaced him as barangay captain. For him, Teresita Dupalco, the first female and the fourth barangay captain. The fifth and the present barangay captain of San Vicente is Semione Pesay. One his accomplishment is water accessibility.

There are seven puroks overseen by the elected kagawads.

Economy

People in the barangay are mostly farmers who live by planting rice, camote, cassava, banana, and other vegetables. Some till agricultural smallholdings. Some of the population also weave mats, and produce palm oil and coconut products.
