SanMar is a US-based corporation which supplies wholesale apparel and accessories to promotional products distributors, embroiderers, screen printers and more within the US.[1] The company has distribution centers in Seattle, Washington; Reno, Nevada; Robbinsville, New Jersey; Cincinnati, Ohio; Dallas, Texas; Minneapolis, Minnesota; Phoenix, Arizona and Jacksonville, Florida.[2]
History
Marty Lott, the founder of SanMar corporation, formed the company in 1971 as a college project. From the beginning, the company offered t-shirts and Marty handled everything from sales to marketing to order fulfillment. The company hired its first employee in 1974. By 1977 to company grew to 20 employees and moved into a 10,000 sq. ft. facility. Today, SanMar employees more than 3500 people in the United States. Marty Lott remains as the company's founder and his son Jeremy Lott is SanMar's president.[3]
In 1980, the company moved to Bellevue, Washington. To ease the order taking process, SanMar began using a computerized system in 1984. In 1990, the company moved its headquarters to Preston, Washington. In 1994 the company opened its first warehouse outside of the Seattle area in Cincinnati, Ohio. In 1995 SanMar expanded its distribution network to Reno, Nevada. Since then, the company expanded on the East Coast, opening a warehouse in New Jersey and adding distribution centers in Dallas, Minneapolis, Phoenix and Jacksonville, Florida. SanMar also has affiliate offices in Hong Kong and Honduras.[3]
Service and products
SanMar has eight national distribution centers and supplies thousands of products. The company totals more than 4 million square feet of inventory space throughout its eight warehouses. The distribution centers enable 1-to-2 day service to 99% of the U.S. Products sold by SanMar are decorated (screen printing, embroidery, sublimation, etc.) by a third party and then sold to end users, including Fortune 100 companies, schools and colleges, community businesses and events, restaurants and hospitality, municipalities, clubs, industrial professions and more.[4]

SanMar is also the distributor of OGIO, Nike Golf, Eddie Bauer, OGIO Endurance, Red Kap and New Era. Other retail brands include Anvil, Jerzees, Gildan, Hanes, Fruit of the Loom and Russell Outdoors.[5] SanMar also produces Port Authority, America's No.1 private clothing label. Red House, Port & Company, District, District Made, Sport-Tek, CornerStone and Precious Cargo complete the company's private label offerings.

SanMar is one of the 20 companies accredited by Fair Labor Association. They recognized SanMar for its dedication to the fair Labor and responsible sourcing principles in November 2012.[6] SanMar achieved the Quality Certification Alliance Accreditation in 2014.[7] Awards received by the company are follows:
