Samuel Krasney

Samuel Joseph Krasney was an American businessman and entrepreneur. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, United States, in 1925, to Benjamin Krasney and Frieda Prilutzky (later anglicized to Polk), Ukrainian immigrants of Jewish faith. Krasney grew up in the poor tenements of the Kinsman neighborhood, populated mostly by impoverished immigrants. He went on to graduate from John Adams High School in 1943. That same year, he attempted to enlist in the United States Army but was rejected for military service due to a heart defect. He attended Western Reserve University as an undergraduate and attained a Law degree.

After humble beginnings, Krasney grew to become one of the successful businessmen in Cleveland. He was president, chairman, and CEO of Banner Industries, an aerospace company.

He died in April 2000, of complications from Parkinson's Disease.
