Sami Sauiluma (born 14 February 1991) is a Samoan Australian professional rugby league footballer for the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks of the National Rugby League. He primarily plays centre and wing, but can also fill in at second-row.

Background

Born in Bankstown, New South Wales, Sauiluma played his junior football for the Woden Valley Rams and South Tuggeranong Knights before being signed by the Canberra Raiders.

Playing career

In 2011, Sauiluma was a part of the Canberra Raiders' NYC squad before moving on to the Raiders' New South Wales Cup team, Mount Pritchard Mounties in 2012.

In Round 15 of the 2013 NRL season, Sauiluma made his NRL debut for the Raiders against the Wests Tigers.[1][2]

In September 2013, Sauiluma was named in the Samoa train-on squad for the 2013 Rugby League World Cup.[3]

On 21 September 2014, Sauiluma was named at centre in the 2014 New South Wales Cup Team of the Year.[4]

On 25 September 2014, Sauiluma signed a 1-year contract with the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks starting in 2015.[5][6][7]

Personal life

Sauiluma is the cousin of Wests Tigers player Tim Simona.[8]
