Sameer Sengupta is an audio engineer, record producer, sound designer, and mastering engineer working out of Studios 301 in Sydney. He also writes and produces his own electronic music.[1]
Life and career
Sameer Sengupta (aka 'Pocket 808') is from Sydney, Australia, and has been writing and producing his own electronic music since 1992, with chart success and award nominations.[2] As 'Pocket 808' Sengupta teamed up with fellow music producer Ken Cloud, and their album Proximo features vocals from leading Australian performers, such as Nathan Hudson from Faker, and Phil Jamieson from Grinspoon.[3] Sungupta was nominated for Best Dance Release at the 2007 ARIA Music Awards.[4]
Behind the scenes, Sengupta is a record producer, Mixing engineer and mastering engineer at Studios 301, primarily involved with pop and Electronic dance music.[5] He has worked with renowned Australian artists such as Havana Brown, Alison Wonderland, and Art vs. Science.[6] He is also involved in music directing in advertising,[7] and was a speaker at the Electronic Music Conference in December 2014.[8]
