Sambrial (Urdu: سمبڑيال), is a town of Sialkot District in the Punjab province of Pakistan. It is the capital of Sambrial Tehsil, an administrative subdivision of the district.[1]
Location
The town is situated on the bank of Upper Chenab Canal and lies to the west of the district capital Sialkot. Sambrial is Tehsil of district Sialkot in Punjab Pakistan consisting 160 villages having 17 union councils. Sambrial is a key city because of its central location among Sialkot, Gujrat & Gujranwala.
Economy
It is home town of Sialkot International Airport, Sialkot Export Processing Zone and Sialkot Dry Port. Sambrial has experienced exponential economic growth because of its strategic crossroads location in the Northeast corner of Punjab. People travelling between Sialkot & Wazirabad drive through Sambrial. The road Sialkot to Rawapindi passes through Sambrial. The recent construction of Tehsil complexes, DDPO (formerly DSP) and other tehsil management offices has triggered a boom in construction and regional migration for jobs. Although the current developments are a contributing factor in the current progress but the historical role can also not be overlooked. A closer look at the map of Punjab reveals that Sambrial lies on the connecting route between GT road and the rest of Eastern and Northern Punjab. In fact, it was a strategic location for trade and military placements by Mughals and British rulers alike in the pre independence(subcontinent)times.
Education
It is one of the most developing new born city in the field of quality education. Some note able educational institutions in Sambrial are Govt. Muslim Awami High School ,Govt. Islamia High School,Danish public school , Kids Club Grammer SchoolCrescent Model School, St. Mary's School, Allied School, The Smart School, The Knowledge School, Govt. Islamia degree College,Punjab College and Superior College.There is a famous Government Technical Training Center (GTTC) SAMBRIAL. Many students are promoted in different types of industries and abroad every years after getting skills in electrical, refrigeration, air condition, and plumbering
