Samarendra Maulik
Samarendra Nath Maulik (1881, Tamluk - 1950, Chelsea) was an Indian entomologist .
Maulik was a specialist in Coleoptera, and worked at the British Museum (Natural History) where he studied leaf beetles (Chrysomelidae; he had also held the position of Professor of Zoology at the University of Calcutta.
He wrote three volumes in The Fauna of British India, Including Ceylon and Burma series.

According to his obituary,[1] Dr. Maulik attempted to adopt a scientific attitude in his approach to all problems. His views were liberal, and he was an atheist.
