Sam Messer
Sam Messer is a painter living in Brooklyn, New York with his wife, film writer and director Eleanor Gaver, and daughter. He is Associate Dean and professor at the Yale School of Art.[1]
He has painted numerous paintings of the author Paul Auster's typewriter (The Story of My Typewriter).
Messer has also written One Man By Himself: Portraits of John Serl in 1995. In this book the main character is Jon Serl a folk artist. Messer wrote this book at the end of Serl's life.
He is represented by the Nielsen Gallery in Boston, Massachusetts.[2]
