Samuel Hazeldine (born 29 March 1972) is an English actor,[1] known for his role in the 2012 feature film The Raven.[2][3]

Early life

Hazeldine, born in Hammersmith, London, is the son of actor James Hazeldine[4] and Rebecca Moore.

After moving between London and Manchester, his father's hometown, the family settled in Tottenham, North London where Sam attended Lancasterian Junior School until the age of 8. When Hazeldine's father moved to Stratford-upon-Avon for the Royal Shakespeare Company's 1980 and 1981 seasons, Hazeldine was taken out of school in London to accompany him. He spent much of his time watching his father in rehearsal rooms there before returning to Tottenham.

The family left their Broadwater Road home and moved to Banbury, Oxfordshire, where Hazeldine attended Banbury School until the age of 16.

He attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) before leaving in 1993 to pursue a career in music.[5]

Career

Hazeldine returned to acting in 2003 and soon made his professional debut as D.C. David Butcher in Prime Suspect 6. Since then he has made numerous appearances in film, television and theatre.
