Salt Creek Falls is a waterfall on Salt Creek, a tributary of the Middle Fork Willamette River, located near Oakridge, Oregon in the Willamette National Forest. It is about 286 feet (87 m) tall and is the second highest plunge waterfall in Oregon after Multnomah Falls.[1][2]
Frank S. Warner—a settler of the Middle Fork Willamette River valley—and a Native American named Charles Tufti discovered the falls in March 1887.[3]
Salt Creek Falls is easily accessible by car year-round. From Interstate 5, take Oregon Route 58. The day use area is about 21 miles (34 km) east of Oakridge, and about 5 miles (8.0 km) west of Willamette Pass. The U.S. Forest Service charges a $5 day use fee, but people with a Northwest Forest Pass may park there without the extra fee.[4] There is a viewing platform near the top of the falls, as well as a hiking path down to the bottom.
