Salam Bappu is an Indian film director who works in Malayalam cinema.[1] He made his debut through the movie Red Wine (2013).[2] He is the person who directed the movie Manglish[3][4]

Biography

Salam Bappu was born on 15 May 1975 at Palapetty, a village in Ponnani, Malappuram, Kerala to Bappu Haji and Ayishumma. He has two brothers, sirajudheen and shihabudheen. Married to Ameena, he is father to two daughters namely Adheena and Ayishna.

After the schooling at Govt. High School Palapetty, he pursued his graduation from MES Ponnani College , Ponnani and Kerala Law Academy Law College, Trivandrum. Also, he holds a degree in Journalism from Press Club Trivandrum.

He started his career in the film industry as an assistant to the renowned Malayalam director Lal Jose. Meesha madhavan, Pattalam, Rasikan, Chandu pottu, Aparichithan, Achanurangatha veedu, Arabhi kadha, Mulla, Elsamma enna aankutty, Spanish masala, Diamond Necklace, Ayaalum njaanum thammil, Kaanchipurathe kalyanam, Vadhyaar are some of the major films that he had worked on as an associate. He holds the credit of co-directing an Oman movie named Aseel and a Bangladesh movie named Eitho Prem. His debut as an independent Malayalam director was marked by the release of the movie Red Wine in 2013 that starred Mohanlal, Fahadh Faasil, and Asif Ali.
