Saketharaman (born on Nov 24,1982) is a performing musician of Carnatic music in India. He is a disciple of Lalgudi Jayaraman. He is an 'A 'grade All India Radio artist.
Early life
When he was just 6 years old, his parents introduced him to the world of music through his first guru Srirangam Krishnamurthy . To understand rhythm and perform better, he went a step further and learnt the Carnatic Mridangam, a percussion instrument. In spite of his long hours of dedication to music training, he holds an impressive academic record of All India Rank in his High School.
Education
He pursued his Masters degree in Software Engineering and is holding a high position in a successful international investment banking company.
Musical journey
Saketharaman had completed an intensive training programme on "Performing techniques in Carnatic music" conducted by his Guru.He has performed concerts all over the world including Theatre de villa, Paris; Eppington Memorial Hall, Melbourne; Tyagaraja Seva Samithi, Muscat; Singapore Indian Fine Arts, Singapore; Kamban Kazhagam, Colombo; Concert tour of United STATES and Toronto including San Jose, Portland, Dallas, San Diego, Chicago, Connecticut; Bahá'í Centre, Sydney; Melbourne
Style
Saketharaman has imbibed the famous Lalgudi Bani rich in Bhavam. His voice that flows effortlessly in all three sthayis never fails to enchant the audience. His Pallavis are outstanding for its rich aesthetic and mathematical permutations and combinations with scintillating ragamalika swaraprasthara showcasing his scholarship and creativity. His Kalpana Swaras mirror his rhythmic excellence. His methodical expansion of ragas, clear brigas and rich manodharma is a treat for music aficionados. He has composed chittai swaras for quite a number of kritis.His mastery over the swaras is extra-ordinary and is widely acknowledged.The knack of bringing out the charm and essence of any raga, each note handled delicately in succession, his concept and picturisation bringing out the meaning of the composition in his mellifluous voice is always a treat for the music lovers. He has composed more than 40 RTP in many ragas and tricky thalas.He has tuned many Meera bhajans , compositions of Shri Sadhasiva Brahmendral and sacred texts of Kanchi Paramacharya Swamigal.His style of winding up the concert with a thillana composed by his Guru Lalgudi Jayaraman is well known.

Personal life
Saketharaman's mother, Vijaya Santhanam, is a postgraduate in Chemistry and an ardent follower of Shri Shri Krishna Premi Swamigal. His father, Santhanam, is a Chartered Accountant. His elder sister, Vishaka Hari is a well known Harikatha exponent. His wife, Vidhya, is a doctor. The couple reside in Bangalore.
