P. Sai Sharan (also known as Saisharan or Saicharan) is a Carnatic musician and Indian playback singer from Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He rose to prominence after winning the third season of the Airtel Super Singer.[1]

Early life

Saisharan gave his first Carnatic music concert performance at the age of 8 at the Thyagaraja Aradhana in Thiruvaiyaru.[2]

Career

Television works

Saicharan successfully participated in a number of reality-based singing competitions telecast on Vijay TV. Saisharan was crowned winner of the third season of Airtel Super Singer in 2011 as a 21 year old engineering student, having also been crowned runner up in the first season of Airtel Super Singer Junior.[3] He subsequently captained his team to win the special "T20" season of the show in 2013.

Playback singing

In 2012, Sai Sharan was formally introduced as a Tamil playback singer.[4] He made his film debut co-singing "Dang Dang" in the movie Manam Kothi Paravai with Malavika, who was also a contestant in the music competition reality TV show, Airtel Super Singer 3.
