St. Joseph's Academy was a Catholic school for girls from 1851[2] to 1971, operated by the Sisters of St Joseph of Carondelet who also later founded the College of St. Catherine. In 1863 the institution was moved to the existing Marshall Avenue location. It is the oldest Catholic school building in Minnesota and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The building is constructed of local yellow limestone in the Italianate style.[3] Christ's Household of Faith, a school and non-denominational Christian church, now occupies the building.
