Sahaswan is a city and a municipal board in Budaun district in the Indian state of western Uttar Pradesh. Till 1853, Sahaswan was the headquarters of Budaun district. it is also known as Rampur Sahaswan Gharana and their native called sahaswani.

Sahaswan has appx 20 localities (Mohallas) like Muhiuddinpur, Qazi Mohalla, Patti Yaqin Mohammad, Dehleez, Chahshiri Mohalla, Pathan Tola, Choudhry Mohalla, Bazaria, Katra, Wilson Ganj, Nawada, Rustam Tola, Mirzatola, Harnatakiya, Mitha Kuan, Saifullahganj, Gopalganj, Nayaganj, Akbrabad, Jahangerabad & Shahbazpur etc.
- Qazi Mohalla : This is Highly educated area of the town also known as a center for Hikmat and Moulviaat, Qazi Mohalla given us so many Hakeem, Maulvi and Famous profiles like Late Meer Mazhar Ali (Politician), Mr. Rashid Sahaswani (Writer) etc.
- Chahshiri Mohalla : Our Existing Chairman Mr. Noor Uddin Sb also resides in this area.
- Jahangirabad : Sister of Mughal Emperor Jahangir is buried here in Jahangirabad.
- Shahbazpur : This is the biggest area of town. Mr. Akhlaq Sahaswani (Famous Urdu Poet) also belongs to this area.
Demographics
As of 2011 India census,[1] Sahaswan had a population of 148,000. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Sahaswan has an average literacy rate of 71%, lower than the national average of 74%: male literacy is 76%, and female literacy is 66%. In Sahaswan, 19% of the population is under 6 years of age. Pramod Inter College(http://www.pramodintercollege.com), Pannalal Inter College, Rajkiya Inter College are the famous inter colleges. D.P. Mahavidhyalaya is only one degree college in Sahaswan. Till 1853, Sahaswan was the headquarters of Budaun.
Transport
By Train The nearest station is Ujhani, 30 km away from Sahawan and it is connected by meter gauge by Agra and Mathura up to Kasganj. In the coming years, plans exist to develop a direct connection to Delhi by broad gauge.
By Road In early stages of Sahaswan, the town did not have any road services. Now the town has got connections with all the cities across the state. Lies on SH18 (Budaun-Delhi), it is just 180 km from Delhi, and 40 km from Budaun.
Economy
Sahaswan has an agriculture-based economy. It has very fertile land; The major cash crop of town is mentha. The business in the town is mainly based on agriculture. There are some small scale industries of textile weaving and carpets making in the different areas like Choudhry Mohalla, Nawada Mohalla etc.
Hikmat was one of the oldest and prime profession in Sahaswan. In ancient times Sahaswan was famous to produce ITR (perfume) on large scale.
