Sadda Haq – My Life My Choice (English : My Rights - My Life, My Choice) is an Indian television series that premiered on 25 November 2013 on Channel V. Sadda Haq follows a female student at a prestigious engineering college, where she subsequently confronts varied stereotypes and prejudices.

Plot

The protagonist, Sanyukta Agarwal, hails from a conservative family in Delhi dreams of becoming a mechanical engineer & then work in her father's automobile company. She gains admission to FITE, the best engineering college in India where she meets another protagonist Randhir Singh Shekhawat, topper of the entrance examination, a sheer genius in the field of engineering who thinks that girls are incapable to study mechanical engineering(ME) & they are only fit for studying in CSE & IT streams or to be a homemaker,the perfect place for women & from here onwards Sanyukta slowly starts to prove him & the male dominated society rather the MCP's wrong & shows the dynamic strength of women rather women empowerment.

Randhir & Sanyukta are forced to be partners in a lab project. She later deliberately causes an explosive blast, so that in the aftermath, her father and elder brother who don't even in their dreams want her to become an engineer cannot remove her or cancel her admission from the college.

Her struggling journey in college revolves around her hatred and competition with Randhir & the male dominated society, her friendships with Kaustuki, Jignesh, Parth, Sahil, Yo-Yo a senior who fails in the semester exams thus became their batch mate, Nikhil, Vidushi who believes in shortcut methods to win & the proverb "money talks" too becomes a friend of hers much later & finally her allocation & performance in the "FITE Dream Team" mentored by Prof. Vardhan Suryavanshi for each & every batch of FITE for participating in the inter college fest events each year & international fest event in their final year. On the other hand Randhir & Parth's past & personal life slowly gets unfolded. She gets to know Randhir's actual character, he helps her in difficult times, she too grooms him & they slowly becomes friend & then comes close to each other, but couldn't stop competing against each other. Her mother always supports her every step that she takes & helps her to overcome them.

In midst of all this, Sanyukta's father arranges her marriage with Sameer Mittal. She tries many times to cancel the marriage but fails. Randhir finds out his parents are filing for a divorce. Randhir finally confesses his love to Sanyukta while he is drunk. Sanyukta begins to realize that she is in love with Randhir. Sanyukta's engagement gets fixed. Randhir gets furious at Sanyukta as she had been lying to him about that. He comes to her house to break her engagement. Sanyukta becomes very angry with him. Randhir comes again to ask for forgiveness.

Sanyukta gets back to the college and their rivalry continues. Sanyukta gets sick during the Final Exams. Randhir makes a plan to help her.

Mittals asks for the dowry and Mr. Agarwal decides to put Sanyukta's FD in Sameer's name but she does the wrong signature. He puts their house in mortgage. Sanyukta gets to know all about this.

Meanwhile, Randhir's parents' divorce case makes Randhir very tensed. He goes to Sanyukta, everyone sees him and questions. Sanyukta threatens them to give the money back or she'll file a dowry case on them. She confesses she loves Randhir and also breaks her engagement.

Sanyukta's family arranges her marriage with Guptas but Vardhan comes and helps her to leave them and come back. Randhir and Sanyukta confess their love but still cannot be in a relationship.

Sanyukta finds that Parth has a nerve disorder and how Vidushi helped him financially. Renuka organizes YSA. Randhir threatens Sanyukta not to take part and he'll arrange both of their fees. Maya, the Dean, is struggling with her husband. Vardhan suggests a divorce. After a lot of deliberation and learning about how Sanyukta left her house for her dreams, she files for a divorce.

Sanyukta and Randhir both participate in the YSA and make it to the final round. Sanyukta's prototype works, and Roshan, Renuka's boyfriend, is pleased with her innovation and congratulates her while keeping his hand on her shoulder. Randhir sees it and loses his temper completely.

Sanyukta wins the YSA. Renuka, mother of Randhir has a heart to heart conversation with him, and wants him to understand her need for love. Maya wants to expel Randhir, but Renuka insists that he should be allowed to continue his education, and Maya suspends him for a week.

Sanyukta ultimately proposes to Randhir and they get into a sweet relationship. Sanyukta is unable to pay the hostel fees and has to live in a PG. She starts working in a coaching class to earn money for the fees. Her mother comes to know about her relationship with Randhir.

Randhir's mother Renuka gets married and then enters Rehan, Randhirs stepbrother, and both vow to destroy each other. Randhir decides that he and Sanyukta will join Renuka's company to destroy it. Sanyukta refuses as she wants to work in her father's company. This leads to a rift between them. Randhir decides to have a fake affair with Rehan's girlfriend Ishika and goes to the extent of kissing her. It is witnessed by Sanyukta and she confronts Randhir and he pushes her. This leads to their tearful breakup.

As their internships start, Sanyukta faces huge competition from Raghu and Kunal. Meanwhile Randhir attempts to destroy Renuka by making a machine defective but its installation is stopped by Sanyukta at the last moment. Enraged by this Randhir convinces Sanyukta's father to hire him with an intention of making Sanyuktas internship tough.
