Sacred Heart Catholic School is a Roman Catholic coeducational secondary school and sixth form with academy status, located in the Camberwell area of the London Borough of Southwark, England.[1]
History
The school converted to academy status in November 2012, and was previously a voluntary aided school administered by Southwark London Borough Council. Today the school is administered by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Southwark, but it continues to coordinate with Southwark London Borough Council for admissions.
Sacred Heart Catholic School is currently in the process of being entirely rebuilt, and the new school buildings will open in September 2014. Because of the construction works staff and pupils from Sacred Heart temporarily relocated to a site on Trafalgar Street in Walworth in July 2012. The temporary site in Walworth is a new school campus developed from the buildings of a Victorian board school. Once Sacred Heart School relocates back to its original site, the campus in Walworth will open as University Engineering Academy South Bank, a new university technical college.[2][3]
