History

In 2004, SS Music conducted a talent hunt, titled the "Fanta Voice Hunt", in order to find participants who could "popularise Pop Music in South India". The four finalists would then move on to make a music video album that would be given to leading film makers.[1]

A contest titled VJ Factor 2 was hosted in 2006 in order to choose three new anchors for the radio broadcast under the same name. In the end, the judges couldn't choose between the final four contestants and all four were chosen to be the anchors, even though one of the contestants was 16 and the age requirements were 18 and older. The broadcast began airing on February 18, 2006.[3]
