SOS Hermann Gmeiner College
SOS Hermann Gmeiner College (also known as HGC) is a higher secondary college in Mirpur 13, Dhaka, Bangladesh. SOS Hermann Gmeiner College Dhaka is an education project of SOS Children's Villages, which is active in 132 countries and territories worldwide. This international work is brought together by the umbrella organisation SOS-Kinderdorf International, which unites the autonomous national associations.

History
The college was founded by Hermann Gmeiner on 19 January 1986. Gmeiner was an Austrian philanthropist and the founder of SOS Children's Villages. Since its inception it has been striving for academic excellence as well as extra-curricular development of the students.
Academic performance
SOS Hermann Gmeiner College provides secondary and higher secondary education. It is one of the top-ranked education institutions in the country. In the recent years, HGC students have done exceptionally well in SSC and HSC examinations.Mirpur, Dhaka.
Academic building
The architects of the main academic building were Nahas Ahmed Khalil and Raziul Ahsan.[1]
Uniform
All students have to wear college uniform as designed and directed by the college authority. There are two different uniforms for two seasons: summer (April–September) and winter (October–March). There is a special dress for sports day (once a week).
