Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Putrajaya Precint 8 (1) is a secondary school situated in Putrajaya, Wilayah Persekutuan, Malaysia. It is entitled as a cluster School of Excellence by the Malaysian Ministry of Education.
History
Putrajaya Precint 8 (1) secondary school is the Smart School which is one of the seven flagship applications Multimedia Super Corridor, other than tele-medicine, e-government, clusters of research and development (R & D), multipurpose card first world, without borders and infrastructure centres 'manufacturing World Wide Web'. Smart School concept (Smart School) has resulted in the birth of Putrajaya Precint 8 (1) secondary school in landscape Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC). With a sound infrastructure and a showcase of the country, the school became the center benchmarking visit "benchmarking" Smart School A level example, from within and outside the country.
Construction of the school building was started in 1998 and the school was ready to operate on 17 January 2000. Pilot group consists of 12 teachers and 30 students were reported for 14 January 2000. At the end of 2000, there were 350 students from Form 1 to Form 5.
The school has 40 classrooms. All classrooms are equipped with air conditioning and 7 computers (6 for students and one for teachers) each. There are four computer labs with 36 computers each. As the Smart School Pilot Project (in 2000), the school has been equipped with 535 computers with Internet LAN and WAN networks. The school has been open six grade classes from 2003 and the first students were the STPM examinations in 2004. This school is the only school that offers classes in Putrajaya form 6 consisting of two classes of flows of Arts and a Science stream class.
This school's name was changed from Putrajaya 1 secondary school to 8 (1) officially on 9 October 2007. In administration, the school is under the management of the District Education Office Sepang, Selangor from 2000 to 2006 and from January 2007 the school was changed under the administration of the Education Office of the Federal Territory of Putrajaya (PPWPP).

The circular shape symbolises unity of all the action, emphasising unity and show a continuing effort without boundaries. School name printed around the inside of the circle and the number 2000 stands for the year the school was founded. Divided into three circles in space means that emphasises three main factors, namely Divine life, Nature and Humanity. Distribution of T-shaped space in the circle symbolises the emphasis on Technology. The lower part of the school's motto load logos into a solid foundation to the entire logo. This section represents an effort throughout the school looming vision towards excellence.
- Symbol
MSC symbol indicates this school is one of the flagships of the Multimedia Super Corridor. Green tree symbols mean. Symbols three poles means the three main goals of smart education self-access, self-directed and self-rate. Symbols book and globe stands for knowledge process seamless.
