SES-3 is a communications satellite operated by SES World Skies. It was built by Orbital Sciences Corporation and based on the STAR-2 platform. It was launched on 15 July 2011 on a Proton-M / Briz-M launch vehicle, alongside the KazSat-2 satellite. It was expected to enter commercial service in March 2012 in the 108.2°E orbital location over Asia.[3][4]
