The Ryerson Students’ Union (or RSU) is local 24 of the Canadian Federation of Students. It is a body that represents Ryerson University’s full-time undergraduate and graduate students. The organization was known as the Ryerson Students’ Administrative Council since 1995, until the board of directors voted to change the organization’s name back to its previous name of the Ryerson Students Union in May 2005, a decision that was officially endorsed by the membership at the Semi Annual General Meeting in November 2005.

The Board

The Board of Directors set the direction and the executive manage the day-to-day operations of the corporation. Students elect 2, 3, 4, or 5 members from each faculty, depending on the size of the faculty, to the board, in addition to student representatives from the University’s Senate, Board of Governors of the University, student groups, course unions and residence.

Equity Service Groups

The Students' Union operates five Equity service groups: the Women's Centre, RyePRIDE, Students Against Racism, the Community Food Room and RyeACCESS. Each Group provides resources to students, host educational and awareness events and advocates on behalf of students from their respective marginalized communities.

In 2010, The Board of Directors voted to change the names from "Community Service Groups" to "Equity Service Groups" to better reflect their mandate.

The Equity Service Groups are open to all students.
