Rutger Worm (born 1 February 1986) is a Dutch footballer who currently plays for Achilles '29 in the Dutch Eerste Divisie.

Biography

NEC

Rutger started his career in the youth program, Quick 1888, in Nijmegen. He subsequently moved to the Vitesse youth squad in Arnhem for two years before ending up at the NEC football academy in 2000. He was often used as a substitute during his career at NEC where he also appeared in several European Cup matches under coach Mario Been.[1][2]

Melbourne Heart

On February 25, 2010 he signed a multi-year deal with Melbourne Heart becoming their first ever international signing.[3] He scored two goals for Heart in their first season, including the first ever scored by a Heart player, as the club's first official goal was an own goal by Ben Kantarovski. On 6 April 2012 it was announced that he would be leaving the club.[4]
