The rusty-necked piculet (Picumnus fuscus) is a species of bird in the Picidae family. It is found in Bolivia and Brazil. Both males and females are dark maroon, with black heads. Males have reddish streaking on their necks and heads (hence "rusty-necked").[2]
Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and subtropical or tropical swamps/flooded forest. Its greatest threat is habitat loss.
