Rustam Karimov (Azerbaijani: Rüstəm Kərimov; born August 18, 2003) is a Azerbaijani child singer. He is known by his appearance at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2013 with his song Me and my guitar.

Biography

Rustam Karimov was born in the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku on August 18, 2003.[1] He started singing at the age of two and soon understood that music was his talent. Rustam Karimov arranged family concerts and has become the "singing hero" during kindergarten.[1]

In 2011, Rustam Karimov signed up at the Rashid Beybutov Music School to study piano.[2]

2013 Junior Eurovision Song Contest

After the original Eurovision Song Contest was hosted in Baku, Rustam became a fan of the contest and wanted to stay on the stage himself.[3] He performed on stage at the internal selection and was selected to represent Azerbaijan at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Kiev, Ukraine.[4] Rustam Karimov performed his song "Me and my guitar" and reached the 7th place of 12 songs with 66 points.
