Russia is scheduled to compete at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 5 to 21 August 2016.
Athletics
Russian athletes have so far achieved qualifying standards in the following athletics events (up to a maximum of 3 athletes in each event):[1][2] Athletes must qualify at the 2016 Russian Athletics Championships to confirm their places for the Games.
- Men's marathon – 3 quota places
- Men's 20 km walk – 3 quota places
- Women's marathon – 3 quota places
- Men's 20 km walk – 3 quota places
Boxing
Russia has qualified boxers for the following events.[3]

Russia has qualified one boat for each of the following events upon receiving a place from the 2014 ISAF Sailing World Championships.[4]

Shooting
Russian shooters have achieved the following quotas based on their performance at the 2014 ISSF World Shooting Championships.[5]
- Men's 50 m rifle prone – 1 quota place (Sergey Kamenskiy)
- Men's 10 m air rifle – 2 quota places (Nazar Louginets, Sergei Kruglov)
- Men's 10 m air pistol – 2 quota places (Vladimir Gontcharov, Leonid Ekimov)
- Men's double trap – 1 quota place (Vasily Mosin)
- Men's skeet – 1 quota place (Alexander Zemlin)
- Women's 10 m air pistol – 1 quota place (Liubov Yaskevich)
Swimming
Russian swimmers have so far achieved qualifying standards in the following events (up to a maximum of 2 swimmers in each event at the Olympic Qualifying Time (OQT), and potentially 1 at the Olympic Selection Time (OST)):[6][7] Swimmers must qualify at the 2016 Russian Swimming Championships (for pool events) to confirm their places for the Games.
