Rukkan
Rukkan is a village of Mandi Bahauddin District, Punjab, Pakistan. Rukkan has more than five primary schools and two high schools, one for each gender.
History
Rukkan is playing a good role in the history of Gondal clan. It is one of the major Gondal residence. In past it was the part of District Shah pur sadar whom tehsil was Sargodha and Rukkan was the sub-tehsil of the district. Until the creation of district Mandi bahauddin it was under the administration of District gujrat with Phalia Tehsil.
Population
Rukkan is a largest village of Malakwal tehsil. Population of the village is 35000. The registered voters are almost 18000. Rukkan is a union council.People are mostly farmers.Many people are working abroad.
Education
People of Rukkan are highly educated. Literacy rate of the village going higher and higher. Many students are studying Sargodha,Gujrat,Lahore and Rawalpindi in colleges and universities.
