Project information
The campus was designed by leading local architects M/s Gandhara Designs and Rajni Chavda in collaboration with Ranjit Singh & Associates of Mumbai, India. It is built in traditional Bhutanese architectural style with functional zoning and location of key parts of the campus in a manner that allows all major facilities to be within easy walking distance of each other. The construction of the infrastructure is being done in three phases over a four-year period from September 2007 to August 2011:
- The first phase of the construction works, covering 16 building began in September 2007 and was completed by May 2009 before the arrival of the first batch of students.
- The second phase which began in September 2008 overlapped with the first. Seven buildings in this phase was completed by 13 June 2010.
- The third phase, covering the last eleven buildings began in September 2009 and will finish by August 2011. The construction is being carried out in a manner so that all the areas and facilities required for the proper functioning of the college in its different phases are fully accessible. The areas still under construction (for future phases) have been cordoned off so that there is minimal disturbance to the main campus.
