Roy Martin (born December 25, 1966) is a former American sprinter. He competed in the 1984 and 1988 Olympic Games. He set the national high school record for the 200 meters with a time of 20.13 seconds in 1985, while attending Roosevelt High School in Dallas. As of April 2015, his record still stands.
Martin later attended Southern Methodist University. He set his personal best in the 200 meters on July 20, 1988, recording a time of 20.05 seconds in Indianapolis, Indiana. He participated in the 200 metres at the 1988 Summer Olympics, but only finished sixth in the seminfinals.[1]
When he retired from sprinting he became the head track coach at Florence Middle School in Texas. He was arrested on a drug offense after a mishandled attempt to stop drug use by pupils at the school.[2]
