Rowan Museum

The Rowan Museum is located in a 19th-century courthouse in Salisbury, North Carolina that survived Stoneman’s Raid. The building is considered to be one of the finest examples of antebellum architecture in North Carolina.[1] The museum is dedicated to the history of Rowan County.

Among the museum's holdings is the Old Stone House, built in 1766 by Michael Braun.[2] The house is the oldest in Rowan County and one of the State's few remaining stone houses.[3]
