Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council election, 2015

The 2015 Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council election will take place on Thursday 7 May 2015, to elect members of the Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council in England.[1] This is on the same day as the general election and other local elections in Britain.

The third of the seats elected in 2011 is in play. During the Rotherham Council election, 2011, Labour swept 20 out of 21 wards.[2]

With the 2012 and 2014 elections, the Council is composed of 50 Labour, 10 UKIP, 2 Conservative and 1 independent councillors. The seats in play are 20 Labour and 1 Conservative. Labour's perennial majority at the Council is still safe in 2015 unless the party fails to win more than one seat.

This is the second election since the Rotherham child sexual exploitation scandal broke.
