Rosario is a second class municipality in the province of Agusan del Sur, Philippines. According to the 2010 census, it has a population of 38,280 people.[3]

Rosario was formerly a part of San Francisco. On June 21, 1969, it became a separate municipality by virtue of Republic Act No. 5760. The town was named after its patron saint Nuestra Senora del Rosario.
