Rome Middle School is the public middle school serving the city of Rome, Georgia, USA. It is operated by the Rome City School District under intern superintendent Dr. John Jackson.

It has been named as a Georgia School of Excellence in 2009.[3] It also won the Governor's Silver Award[4] for academic achievement for two years in a row. It was a 1999 Georgia Dream School.[5]

The administration consists of the principal, Greg Christian; the 7th grade assistant principal, Dr. Christy Epps; and the 8th grade assistant principal, Leslie Dixon.

Rome Middle School offers football, volleyball, softball, basketball, cheerleading, wrestling, cross country, baseball, soccer, golf, track, swimming, and tennis. Student organizations at the school include Beta Club, Leadership RMS, Academic Competition, FFA, F.I.S.H., National Creative Society, Drama Club, Chess Club, Technology Club, Rome Bands Website, and the German Club.[6]

This school replaced East Rome and West Rome Junior High Schools. Construction started at the current site, shared with Rome High School, in the summer of 1990.[7]
