Samuel Elliot Roman (born 1986), better known by his stage name Romans (stylized RØMANS), is an English singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist signed to Roc Nation. He has written for Mary J. Blige and was featured on "Home" by Naughty Boy.

Early life

RØMANS was born in Pinner, Middlesex, which also is the birthplace and childhood residence of Elton John, who he cites as one of his key-influences. His first gig was the Northwood Hills hotel at the age of 13, and he left school at 16 when got signed to a production company.[1]

Career

In April 2013, RØMANS was featured on "Home" off Naughty Boy's debut-album, Hotel Cabana, their collaboration was released as an single in July 2014 and peaked at number 45 on the UK Singles Chart. On May 6, 2014, it was announced that he had signed a record deal with Roc Nation.[2] He wrote Mary J. Blige's songs "My Loving" and "Doubt" which were released on her thirteenth studio album, The London Sessions, on November 24, 2014. The latter was released as a single on March 19, 2015. He played three showcase shows at South by Southwest in 2015, including The FADER Fort.
