The Roman Catholic Diocese of Luebo (Latin: Lueboën(sis) ) is a diocese located in the city of Luebo in the Ecclesiastical province of Kananga in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
History
- April 25, 1959: Established as Apostolic Vicariate of Luebo from the Apostolic Vicariate of Luluabourg
- November 10, 1959: Promoted as Diocese of Luebo
Of particular importance is the Archbishop Emery Kabongo Kanundowi who, after studying at the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy (1971) has lent his service in various apostolic Nunciature, from 1982 to 1987 and 'was second secretary of Blessed John Paul 2 today in history the church and 'the only African ever having been secretary of the Pope in 1988, and was ordained Archbishop of Luebo by Blessed John Paul 2
of 2003 is canon of the patriarchal basilica of San Pietro in Vatican
