The Diocese of Darjeeling is a Roman Catholic Diocese situated in the north east of India. It includes within its territory the independent Himalayan state of Bhutan, where Christianity is practiced by a tiny minority and proselytism is forbidden. The current bishop is Stephen Lepcha. There are around 32,000 Catholics in the diocese, just under 1% of the total population. The diocese is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Calcutta.
