The Italian Catholic Archdiocese of Trento (Latin: Archidioecesis Tridentina), in the Triveneto, was created by the elevation in 1929 of the historical Diocese of Trento, which as the Bishopric of Trent had formed a state of the Holy Roman Empire. The archdiocese became a metropolitan see in 1964, and has the Diocese of Bolzano-Brixen as its suffragan.[1]
