Roberto José Rosales Altuve (born 20 November 1988) is a Venezuelan footballer who plays for Spanish club Málaga CF.[1] Mainly a right back, he can also play as a right midfielder.

Born in Caracas, Rosales made his senior debuts with hometown's Caracas, appearing in two matches before signing a two-year deal with Gent on 30 May 2007. He made his debut for the latter on 14 July, in a 4–0 win at Cliftonville, for that year's UEFA Intertoto Cup.

Rosales appeared regularly for Gent in the following campaigns, and joined Twente in a three-year deal on 30 July 2010.[2] He made his debut on 29 August, starting and playing the full 90 minutes of a 4–0 home routing over Utrecht.[3]

On 7 December 2010, Rosales scored a goal in a 3–3 home draw against Tottenham Hotspur, for the season's UEFA Champions League, and became the first Venezuelan to do so.[4] He continued to appear regularly for the Tukkers, being also linked to the likes of Real Madrid[5] and Arsenal.[6]

On 9 July 2014 Rosales moved to La Liga side Málaga, by agreeing to a three-year deal with the Andalusians.[7] He made his debut in the competition on 23 August, starting in a 1–0 home win against Athletic Bilbao.[8]

International career

Rosales made his international debut for Venezuela on 28 March 2007, playing the entire second-half of a 5–0 routing over New Zealand.
