Robert Pelikán

Robert Pelikán (born 18 October 1979 in Prague[1]) is a Czech lawyer and politician, current (as of March 2015) Czech Minister of Justice in the government of Bohuslav Sobotka. On 12 March 2015, he replaced Helena Válková in the function as a candidate of ANO 2011.

Biography

Pelikán studied at the Faculty of Law of the Charles University in Prague. From 2008 to 2014 he worked for Vrána & Pelikán law firm which he co-founded. Since June 2014 he served as the First Deputy Minister of Justice.[1]

He has been criticized by Pavel Zeman, Supreme Public Prosecutor of the Czech Republic, for his intention to increase control over Prosecutor's Offices by the state executive.[2][3]
