Robbie Regan
Robbie Regan (born 30 August 1968 in Caerphilly, Wales is a Welsh former professional boxer.
Pro career
Welsh pugilist Robbie Regan is a former WBO World Bantamweight champion and also a former interim IBF World Flyweight champion. In 1995 he won the interim IBF flyweight title with a thunderous left hook to gain a KO victory over Ferid Ben Jeddou. Through bad organisation and broken promises of fight fixtures Robbie and his camp decided that he would be moved up a weight to take on WBO bantamweight title holder Daniel Jiménez in 1996, and won the title by a unanimous decision. Unfortunately for Robbie it was to be his final boxing bout. He attempted a come-back after two long years out of the ring with glandular fever, but failed an MRI scan and was stopped from boxing because of health reasons.[1]
Troubles Outside the Ring
Regan was arrested for common assault [2] and aggravated burglary and later jailed for 18 months for assault.[1]
