Robbie Muirhead (born 8 March 1996) is a Scottish footballer who plays for Dundee United in the Scottish Premiership. He began his career with Kilmarnock before joining Dundee United in February 2015. He has represented Scotland at all levels up to under-19 international.

Club career

Born in Irvine, Scotland, Muirhead was known for playing football and golf in local newspaper.[2][3] Muirhead attended Grange Academy and joined Kilmarnock[4] Muirhead made his professional league debut on the last game of the season, coming on as a substitute in the second half for Cillian Sheridan, in a 3-1 loss against St. Mirren, which was Kenny Shiels's last game as Kilmarnock Manager.[5]

Muirhead playing time in the 2013-14 season soon increased with twenty-one appearance and scoring twice against Partick Thistle.[6] and St. Johnstone.[7] His first team chance attracted interests from English clubs.[8]

In the first half of the 2014-15 season, Muirhead added two more goals to his career tally, against Motherwell[9] and St. Mirren.[10] His two goals to his tally career led Daily Record naming Muirhead as the next successor to Kris Boyd.[11]

He left Kilmarnock to sign for Dundee United on the transfer deadline for a fee of £150,000 plus add-ons, as well as signing a three-year deal.[12] His move to Dundee United led the club's manager Allan Johnston resigned in protest, as result of his sale.[13] Celtic was also keen to sign Muirhead, having signed Dundee United's Stuart Armstrong and Gary Mackay-Steven.[14] Ironically, Muirhead made his Dundee United's debut, coming on as a substitute for Henri Anier, in a 3-2 loss against his former club, Kilmarnock.[15]

International career

Muirhead has also represented Scotland at under-16, under-17, under-18 and under-19 international levels.[16][17]
