Rob Young (writer)

Rob Young is a British music author, journalist[1] and current editor-at-large of The Wire, a UK-based experimental music magazine. He is based in Stoke Newington, north London.

Life and career

Young was born in Bristol in 1968.[2] He has worked as a music writer and editor since 1993.[2]

He was editor of The Wire between 2000 and 2004 and continues as a co-owner, contributor and editorial member.

He has contributed to various publications including The Guardian,[3] Gramophone, The Independent On Sunday, Uncut, frieze and Jazz Times.

Reviewing Young's book Electric Eden in the San Francisco Chronicle, Tom Nolan described it as "encyclopedic and often mesmerizing".[1] Critic Sean O'Hagan, writing in The Guardian gave the book a positive review.[4]
