Robby Gilbert (sometimes credited as Rob Gilbert; born 1966) is an American cartoonist, animator, game designer, multimodal artist, musician, media arts instructor,^[1] and illustrator best known for children's books, musical compositions, illustrations and work in interactive media. His recent works explore the relationships and interconnectivity of many artistic disciplines.

Gilbert was born in New York City and began drawing at an early age. He studied at the Vermont College of Fine Arts and attended the School of Visual Arts (SVA), as well as the Art Students' League, and has taught animation, art, and interactive media at a variety of colleges.

Gilbert is well known for his monthly comic strip, "The Adventures of Ranger Rick" for the National Wildlife Federation's "Ranger Rick Magazine," which he illustrated between 1999 and 2009. He has illustrated several books for children including:

Rob Gilbert is currently a professor of Animation at Lyndon State College (LSC) in Lyndon, Vermont. Gilbert graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts, and a Masters in Educational Leadership.
