In addition, Riverside Secondary offers a variety of clubs, sports teams, and volunteering opportunities to their students, which participate in many provincial and community events. Riverside Secondary School also offers superb theatrical performances every year which have garnered awards both regionally and provincially for over the past decade.
In 2014, Riverside welcomed former Tech-ed teacher Craig Reitchel back as the new Vice-Principal, replacing Mr. Steve Roos, who went on to become the new Principal at Pitt River Middle School. It was also announced later in November that Vice-Principal Randy Manhas would be leaving Riverside to join the SD43 board office. His successor is Pitt River Middle School's Pam Becker. As of January 1st, 2015, Riverside employs 120 staff members.
The Eddy
Riverside's newspaper, The Eddy, is run by English teacher Mrs. Kathy Shong. In 2013, as part of the new "Digital Eddy", The Eddy introduced a new student podcast called "The EddyCast". It was created by three students, Andrew Sahaydak, Jenna Dawson and Arianna Jaffer. It features some of the weeks' top school news stories reported by students.
