Rival Threads: Last Class Heroes is an upcoming side-scrolling action role-playing game from Studio Kontrabida for the Ouya platform,[1] Microsoft Windows, Linux,[2] iOS, and Android. The game features 2D visuals, fast-paced gameplay and multiple story lines. Created by Leonardo Molar, the game is meant to be an introduction to Rival Threads, a series Kontrabida hopes to continue through games, short stories, comics, and animation.[3]

As of April 15, 2014, Studio Kontrabida has put Rival Threads on hold.[4]

    Story

Players in Last Class Heroes are designated as Puppeteers and the general goal is to increase the Puppeteers' ranking in Vermilion Academy. This is achieved by challenging the other occupants of the school and defeating the strongest representatives of each of the four classes, the MVPs (Most Valuable Puppeteers).

Marionettes are a staple of everyday life in the game's world. To bring each Marionette to life, a fragment of a person's soul is required. Because of this, Marionettes are made to be a reflection of their owner's true self, strength, and virtue.

Vermilion Academy, whose school motto is "Corpus Infecta - Anima Perfecta" ("Tainted Body - Perfect Soul"), is home to four classes. The original founders of the school, known as the Vermilion Troupe, created the Academy in dedication to "The Creator."
