Ritu Varma (Born 10 March 1990[1]) is an Indian film actress who mainly works in the Telugu film industry. She was the first runner-up of Dabur Gulabari Miss Rose Glow (South) in 2011. She is best known for her performance in the award-winning short film Anukokunda for which she won best actor (female) at the 48HR Film Project in 2012. This short film was screened at the Cannes Short film Corner in 2013.

Early life and family

Ritu Varma was born in Hyderabad, where she was also educated. She is an engineering graduate from Malla Reddy College, Hyderabad.

Career

After her appearance in the Telugu short film Anukokunda, she entered Telugu film industry. She acted in 'Baadshah' movie as Kajal Agarwal's cousin. Then she made her debut as a heroine with the film Prema Ishq Kadhal[2] in which she played the role of a costume designer opposite Sree Vishnu. And her second release was Naa Rakumarudu. Played a role of bubbly college girl opposite Naveen Chandra. She has also signed on to appear opposite Nani in Yevade Subramanyam[3][4] which will be released soon.
